Belmont Park was constructed between 1903-1905 and opened on May 4, 1905.
The Wright Brothers supervised an international aerial tournament before
150,000 people at Belmont Park on October 30, 1910. Belmont was also the
sight of the first American air mail service (1918) between New York and
Washington, D.C. In 1956, Belmont Park underwent a multimillion dollar
facelift with emphasis on transportation and parking. In 1963, after 60
years, Belmont was forced to close due to structural detoriation. The
"new" Belmont Park reopened on May 20, 1968.

Children under the age of 12 are admitted free. Gates open: 11:00am
