We'd gotten our tickets at the Pavillion South Street Seaport,
Pier 17 for $48 a ticket. The seats were really comfortable
and located on the edge. Mind you, it's well worth the trip
to South Street! Apart of the obvious reasons of seeing a
bit of NY Nautical history, you'll also spend a third or a
quarter of the time spent at the tkts booth in Times Square.
Pretty Good deal. AYE?????? |
New
Yorkled's latest outing with a friend included the Phantom
of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre on 44th Street.
Unfortunately we've never seen the original great Michael
Crawford in action, but the performances on this evening by
Howard McGillin as the Phantom, Elizabeth Southard as Christine
and Michael Shawn Lewis as Raoul were truly touching. The
magnificence of their voices soared way out to our rear mezzanine
seats and the choreographed timing of these and other cast
members was a great welcome for us all.
From the spectacular lighting, sets and costume designs to
that grand high pitch reached by Christine and well, the special
effects as well were all too much of a thrill. NO NO We were
not worthy!. But hey, we paid for our tickets so why not?
