Note: The below images and words are from a previous year.
Note: there are events
taking place there throughout each day. So's to keep on top of what's
happening, visit the following to see the schedule: Tartan
Week NY
and look below and throughout this page.
VisitScotland, host of this free event at Grand Central Terminal
is of course inviting everyone into the Scottish Village to experience
and see what a visit to Scotland may be like.
Learn about its History, Foods, Tourism, Sports and much more...continue
reading
From learning about studying at one of Scotland's Universities,
doing business there, visiting or even working there....one will
get a taste of this wonderful country through a number of senses.
Visit this special yearly event which'll be there at Vanderbilt
Hall until April 10th, 2005 and learn about such locales as Edinburgh,
Aberdeen, Fife, Glasgow, Highland and Stirling amongst others.
Yours truly had the fine opportunity of briefly chatting with some
of the folks there who were all too friendly and welcoming. Upon
my visit I'd caught sight of gorgeous photos of the Scottish Isles,
worked my way through some interactive computer kiosks, photographed
some of the items on display and even learned about the Wallace
Sword as well as Stirling's celebration in honour of William Wallace
this coming Summer. That's right. It'll be 700 years after this
memorable hero's death. One might recall the name William Wallace
as that of the great hero of 'Braveheart', the film by Mel Gibson.
Of course a great film shouldn't be the only reason for a visit
to this educational/entertaining exhibition. There's plenty of reading
material for all to take home. Things one may never have known about
this great land/country will be revealed to you.
So, it's with pleasure that New Yorkled sends its warm thanks to
the people who greeted us there with kind and warm smiles.
