Taipei Folk Dance Theatre

Taipei Folk Dance Theatre's unique style blends folk traditions with modern artistry, breathing new life into an ancient culture. The program includes the new work "Joy of Zen," the acclaimed martial arts piece "Images of Kung-Fu," the ethnically flavored "Hakka Love Songs," and "Song of Kavalan," which draws on folk themes to evoke a rustic, local atmosphere.

Lushly costumed and visually stunning, imbued with elements of Chinese dance, the Taipei Folk Dance Theatre embraces modern theatrical techniques that bridge the gap between formal choreography and traditional folk-dance pieces.

Due to the popularity of this free event, advance registration is suggested to secure your seats. Please call the Kupferberg Center Box Office at 718-793-8080: Mondays & Wednesdays, 12 Noon-8 pm, and Fridays, 12 Noon-6 pm to reserve your free tickets.
