The Paley Center and the International Documentary Association (IDA) are pleased to screen the documentaries (features and short subjects), which are nominated for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. These weekend screenings give the Paley Center community and IDA Members a unique chance to see all the documentary films before the Oscar telecast on Sunday evening, February 27. We thank the nominated directors for making their programs available to us.

See the wedding of this century LIVE from London as HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton tie the knot on Friday, April 29. It will be worth getting to the Paley Center at 5:30 in the morning to gather with other Royal watchers and see the festivities in HD on a theater screen. Tea and scones will be served along with some serious TV wedding trivia, with classic real and fictional weddings playing on the monitors.

Tell Your Friends! The Concert Film!

The Paley Center is proud to present a screening of Tell Your Friends! The Concert Film!, a look at the burgeoning alternative comedy scene in the tradition of great rock documentaries including The Last Waltz and Woodstock. A festival favorite, Tell Your Friends! features such alt comedy luminaries as Reggie Watts, Kristen Schaal, Janeane Garofalo, and Marc Maron, among others. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers and a selection of the iconoclastic comics seen in the film.

2011 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of "The First Lady of Television," Lucille Ball, on August 6 and the 60th anniversary of the debut of I Love Lucy on October 15. The Paley Center is offering screenings of four compilation packages of programming from the collection to celebrate these milestones, including many programs not seen since their original airing.

As part of the annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF), the Paley Center will screen different musical “takes” on Cinderella and Peter Pan. Two of these programs made television history; the other two are rarities that have not been seen since their broadcasts in the 1970s. The Paley Center has partnered with NYMF each season since the festival began in 2004.
