A large variety of apples, apple products and freshly pressed cider will be available. The nation's largest apple cobbler will be baked on site. Enjoy cider pressing demonstrations while learning fun apple facts at this delightful event. Vendors will have a variety of collectibles for sale, food, hayrides and free children's games will make this event fun for all ages.

Pick your own Pumpkin
SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS

October is pumpkin month at the Farm Museum! Enjoy wandering through the planting field to find your favorite pumpkin. Price of pumpkins will be determined by weight. A fun farm treat for the whole family! Admission to the pumpkin patch is free.

Children's Fall Festival

Halloween fun for children of all ages. Youngsters are invited to wear their costumes! Life in the Colonies: A Celebration of 18th Century Life at Van Cortlandt House in Van Cortlandt Park

We're still waiting to confirm the date for this item

The festival celebrates the sights and sounds of a typical 18th century market day.  Market days were an opportunity for the community to gather to socialize, eat, drink and purchase the goods being sold by craftsmen.  At this market day, craftsmen will demonstrate their authentic skills and attendees will be able to try their hand as well—churning butter, dipping a candle or making a cornhusk doll.  Benjamin Franklin will also make a special guest appearance.

Pulitzer Prize Winning Author Will Read From Her Upcoming Work

Annie Proulx won the Pulitzer Prize for The Shipping News, and is also the author of the novels Postcards, That Old Ace in the Hole and Accordion Crimes, as well as the story collections Heart Songs, Bad Dirt and Close Range. She considers herself a roving citizen of North America with heart-felt attachments to several European countries as well as New Zealand, Australia, Japan and lesser-known corners of the world. For now she lives and writes in Wyoming under the shadow of a crumbling cliff.

Beginning in South Street Seaport this walk will go across the Brooklyn Bridge in Lower Manhattan for the sake of bringing folks together with the purpose of raising funds and awareness towards the fight against blood cancers. Great Kills Park  - Greenbelt White Trail (Meet in first parking lot of Great Kills Park at Hylan Boulevard and Buffalo Street) in Staten Island

Join the Urban Park Rangers for an eight-mile hike along the Greenbelt White Trail from Great Kills to Willowbrook Park. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a variety of woodland wildlife such as rabbits, squirrels, cardinals, warblers and black-capped chickadees. This moderate hike will last roughly 2.5 to 3 hours and will end at Willowbrook Park. Wear waterproof boots. Bring water, a snack and binoculars if you have them. FREE.
