It's that time of year again to head on over to the Hudson River Park which has only grown more and more aesthetically inviting with every single passing year! A locale in NYC which spans miles with it's walkways, paths, bike lanes, sports, piers and scenic panoramic views of the Hudson River! So look below and see what's to come this year of 2008.

Hudson River Park’s Swim Series

Sports enthusiasts will be competing in these swim races. If you'd like to participate or obtain additional information then visit www.nycswim.org or call 1-888-nyc swim. These venues are Co-sponsored by the Manhattan Island Foundation.

Rumble on the River at Pier 84
(44th Street)

Thursday, August 5 at 7:00 pm
Raindate: August 6
Be on hand for this free outdoor main event as participants from around the five boroughs and beyond fight it out to see who is the best. Event is freeand open to the public with special ticketed VIP ringside seating also available. VIP tickets go on sale June 14th at Friday Night Fights.

14th Street and the Hudson River – Meatpacking District
This year’s Annual Blues Festival promises to be better than ever featuring the hottest blues artists including Smoking Joe Kubek and Bnois King Band The Teeny Tucker Revue. While you enjoy the music amazing local BBQ restaurants will sell their specialties.  Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of this premier Hudson River Park event. Note: When this annual item first began there WERE fireworks...unfortunately that's stopped in the past year or so. Let's see what happens this year?

At Pier 54 on Sundays
14th Street and the Hudson River – Meatpacking District

Here's your chance to dance with the sunset or rather with your partner by the Hudson River. This regular venue takes place every Sunday night from July - August. There'll also be Free Dance Lessons beginning at 6:30 pm courtesy of Dance Manhattan. Live bands to begin at 7:00 pm
Featured styles include swing, tango and salsa.

Big City Fishing & River Workshops

This takes place on Weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day

Did you know you can fish along the Hudson River? Not only that but they'll even provide you with the reels, rods and even the bait! Can you believe it!???

Getting There: Take the 1, 2, 3, 9 or the A, C, E to Chambers Street; walk west and cross West Street/9A. Turn right immediately, heading north to Piers 25, 26, and 34 OR take the 1,9 to Canal Street, cross West Street/9A at Vestry St. head north for Pier 34, and south for Piers 26 and 25
Landmarks and Conveniences: Pier 25: Snack Shop, Mini-Golf, Beach Volleyball, Art Shack, Children's Playground and Gardens. Pier 26: The River Project, The Downtown Boathouse. Pier 34: The historic Holland Tunnel Vent Shaft and art installation ABirds@ by Ron Baron.

PIER 40 at Houston St.
Getting There: Take the A, C, E to West 4th Street. Walk west to West Street/ (Across at West Houston and head to the walkway at the South end of the building.
Landmarks and Conveniences: Pier 40 Picnic House, Soccer Fields, Batting Cages, Climbing Wall and Parking Garage.

PIER 45 and 46 at Christopher St.
Getting There: Take the 1,9 to Christopher Street. Walk west to West Street.
Landmarks and Conveniences: Christopher Street fountain.

PIER 51 and 54 at 13th Street
Getting There: Take the A, C, E, to 14th Street OR take the M14 bus to Tenth Ave and 15th Street. Cross West Street at 14th and walk south.
Landmarks and Conveniences: Arch at Entranceway to the Pier.

PIER 62 at 23rd St., PIER 63 Maritime
Getting There: Take the M23 or M14 Bus straight to Chelsea Piers OR take the C, E to 23rd Street, walk west, cross 12th Ave. at 22nd Street. Head around the northern corner of Basketball City for Pier 63 Maritime.
Landmarks and Conveniences: Conveniences/ Landmarks:
Pier 62: Roller Rinks, Shaded Seating, and Gardens. Pier 63 Maritime: Maritime artifacts, Historic Vessels, and Food Concession.

PIER 84 at 44th Street, Pier 86, The Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum at 46th St.
Getting There:
Take the M42 bus to the Hudson River or take the A, C, E to 42nd Street and Walk west and cross 12th Ave at 43rd Street.
