1st Annual New York International Digital Film Festival announces
upcoming screenings at DV Dojo & Remote Lounge November 6-9.
Opening night at DV Dojo [310 Bowery], Thursday, November 6 at
7:30pm will be the US Premier of a new Canadian feature film, The
Pedestrian, directed by Trevor Cunningham, preceded by filmmaker
and humorist Graham Meriwether’s Buy Any Jeans Necessary the
much-talked-about short film from this summer’s East Village
Film Festival.
At 7:30pm on Friday, November 7, Remote Lounge [327 Bowery] will
host their shorts program featuring an eclectic mix of drama, humor,
horror and sci-fi films from around the world. A highlight of the
shorts program is Quality of Life: The Giuliani Years, the debut
film of downtown performance specialist and activist Galinsky, featuring
the last on-screen appearance of Quentin Crisp. The spectacular
cutting-edge visual effects and digital animation of Embryo, directed
by Mike Goedecke and produced by Kane Roberts of the renowned broadcast
design house, Belief, concludes the shorts program. Reception at
6:00pm precedes the screening.
They will also be screening two exciting new digital features.
Saturday November 8 at 7:30pm, Expiration, a new Canadian feature
by first-time director Gavin Heffernan. For the festival’s
closing night on Sunday, November 9 at 7:30pm, fresh from it’s
premiere at this year’s South By Southwest Film Festival,
the 7th Floor presents Deprivation, by Jesse Scolaro, preceded by
the experimental horror short Cuando by East Village artist Brandon
Evans.
