The Routes

The following are details from last year's race (2005)

Start/Finish:
Central Park's beautiful Harlem Meer at 110th Street and Lenox Avenue and onto Brooklyn's Prospect Park

15 miles (Park to Park):
A scenic and family-friendly tour from Central Park to Prospect Park, Frederick Law Olmsted’s green masterpieces. Enjoy riding the majestic avenues of Manhattan, across the world famous Brooklyn Bridge and through beautiful brownstone Brooklyn to the carousel in Prospect Park. End your trip at the park or take advantage of our free transportation back to the start in Central Park. Leave 7 am. Finish 10 am-1 pm.

35 miles (Brooklyn & Queens Riverfront Ride):
A combination of the 15 mile route and a trip around the world and through time via the fascinating neighborhoods near the East River in Brooklyn and Queens, including the
museum district in Long Island City. Leave 7:30 am. Finish 11 am-3 pm.

55 miles (Brooklyn Loop & Queens Riverfront Ride):
A very scenic combination of the 75/100 mile and 35 mile routes. Ride through culturally rich neighborhoods of Brooklyn (including Coney Island!) and then along the waterfront to Floyd Bennett Field and up through the historic neighborhoods of upper Brooklyn and Queens. From bada bing to i-ching and everything in between. Leave 7 am. Finish 11 am-4 pm.

75 miles (Bay Breezes):
A unique tour of the perimeter of Brooklyn and Queens featuring some of the city’s best greenways, from brownstones to marinas to mansions. Ride out to the beach in the Rockaways and take a lap on New York’s Kissena velodrome. You won’t believe that you’re still in New York City! Leave 6:30 am. Finish 12-4 pm.

100 miles (NYC Century):
The 75 mile route plus great Bronx and Manhattan greenways. The ultimate urban adventure on two wheels: Four boroughs, two wheels, one day, hundreds of neighborhoods and cultures. There’s no ride like it. You’ve got to ride it to believe it. Leave 6 am. Finish 12-6 pm.
