    The Supremes Project

    Thursday, March 15 & Saturday, March 17
    Performances at 8:00PM
    Led by Roy Nathanson, the Jazz Passengers “upend the formula of a regular jazz gig” (NY Times). The Supremes Project finds them in a typically romantic and mischievous mood, interpreting the music of the beloved girl group. Creative Advisor: Danny Kahn This piece is commissioned by the Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival, and will premiere at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Summer 2007.

    Out of Space @ BRICstudio kicks off an electrifying fourth season with a line-up of new works, including Infatuation, choreographed and performed by Kelly Bartnik; shortcomings / Tall Tales by Robbie Cook and Peter Sciscioli (of Jane Comfort & Company); and excerpts from Monstah Black’s Afro-punk funk rock opera, Skipping Backwards.     Brooklyn-based Brave New World Theatre transforms “Crossing Brooklyn Ferry”, Walt Whitman’s love song to New York, into a not-to-be-missed theatrical experience. Directed by Claire Beckman Choreography by Freefall(ltd)’s Lynn Brown & Lynn Marie Ruse Creative Advisor: Morgan Jenness This piece is commissioned by the Celebrate Brooklyn!     Masquerade: Songs of Calypso & Home

    Two-time National Slam Champion, Bonair-Agard’s work reflects the struggles of a man in voluntary exile in a conflicted 21st-century America. Based on his poem cycle, Masquerade is a theatrical critique and celebration of the Trinidadian ethos. Directed by Kamilah Forbes Creative Advisor: Danny Hoch
