this museum are more than 1.5 million paintings, prints, photographs,
costumes, toys, rare books, manuscripts, sculptures, decorative
arts objects, and other artifacts that comprise New York City's
historic treasury. Within this collection are: more than a
million prints and photographs depicting all aspects of NYC
from 17th Century to the present; a complete archival record
of every Broadway production within the Theater Collection;
and furniture, period rooms and many objects representing
the history of material culture in NYC.
Hours:
Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., The Museum
is closed on Mondays.
The Museum will be open to the public on the following holidays:
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day,
Independence Day (Fourth of July), and Labor Day.
Admission:
The following contributions are suggested:
$7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for senior citizens and students,
$15.00 for families (maximum two adults), Museum members are
free.
