CMA
will have extended hours and be open from 12noon – 5pm.
Regularly
scheduled hours will continue Wednesday April 4 through Sunday April 8 12noon – 5pm.

Monday, April 2
1-4:30
Animal Masks. In this workshop children can transform
themselves into their favorite animal by decorating a wearable
paper mask with watercolors and drawing materials.

Tuesday,
April 3

Found Object Cityscapes. Using cardboard, buttons, paper,
and found objects, children will create relief sculptures of
their favorite city.

Wednesday, April 4
4:30pm
Movie Night “The Wind in the Willow.” Come
enjoy the animated version of this classic story.

Floppy Paper Hats
Create a festive and unique spring hat out of colored paper,
collage items and found objects!

Saturday, April 7

Clay@CMA Every Saturday, children can sculpt imaginative
and colorful clay creatures with CMA artist Joe Vena! This
workshop is fun for all ages – parents and grandparents
enjoy it as much as children! Each Saturday will focus
on a different theme from ‘Clay Animals of the Arctic’ to ‘Creating
Elves of Clay.

Satuday, April 7
12noon – 4:00pm
Mini-Masters Series. A Special Guest Artists will lead
an open-ended workshop focusing upon the techniques and materials
of master artist, Georges Seurat. Children ages 4 – 12
years will be making their own artwork in the style of the
artist’s technique known as pointillism.

Monday,
April 9

Mobiles. Inspired by sculptor Alexander Calder, children
will combine wire, beads, and cardboard shapes to create whimsical
hanging sculptures.

Tuesday, April 10
1-4:30
Printmaking. In this fun workshop, children will explore
the art of printmaking by creating unique prints from drawings
etched into Styrofoam.

Wednesday, April 11th
Popular storyteller LuAdams comes to CMA with her ever popular
story ‘Treasures of the Heart.’ LuAnn
Adams has created and performed more than 500 storytelling
programs for children and adults in cultural organizations
and schools throughout New York. Beloved by parents
and children alike her stories are innovative and creative
and appeal to children of all ages!

Located in Soho, the Children's Museum of the Arts is the only
children's museum in New York city that brings artists and children
together to create, exhibit and celebrate children's artwork. CMA
provides imaginative, interactive programs, activities and
events focusing on the visual and performing arts for children
ages 12
years and under. Included are permanent exhibits, as well as two
floors
of open art studios for hands-on projects, and exhibit spaces.
