in 1969 by Puerto Rican educators, artists and community activities
whom envisioned an educational institution that would reflect
the richness of their culture.
El Museo del Barrio possesses an 8,000 collection of Caribbean
and Latin American art. They range from pre-Columbian vessels
to contemporary installations.

Galleries are currently closed and will reopen Fall 2009
But there are still ongoing events taking place there.
