Village Halloween Parade
"The Village Hearth"
Entering into its 33rd celebration is the Annual Halloween Parade.
from Spring St to 23rd Street along 6th Avenue
October 31st beginning at 7:00 pm

Come on down and see all the ghouls and goblins. It's a huge attraction with more than 2 million spectators and over 45,000 participants. "It's the largest public participatory event in the greatest city in the world."

So, if you show up in a costume then you're welcomed to join the parade.

Line up for the parade begins on 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal From 6:30 to 8:30 pm
NOTE: According to the official site, you should ONLY enter the line-up on 6th Ave. from the East and South between Canal and Spring ! The West Side is cut off.

It then heads north to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue. So show up in your costume and be ready to walk along in front of thousands upon thousands of spectators.

The Parade is expected to last from 7pm to 11pm and will be telecast through Cable NY1 News from 8:00 - 9:30pm.

It takes about 2 hours or more for the parade to reach the end.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden transforms into a Halloween wonderland with musical performances, demonstrations, workshops, and spooky activities for kids of all ages. Catch concerts taking place there as well as other items such as Thai pumpkin carving, shrunken apple heads and more which will thrill one and all! There'll also be a Halloween costume parade with the Brazilian percussion corps drummers leading the way. Heck! So come one and all in costume or regular attire. You're welcomed to this silly event that's fun for the entire family.

    As usual on hand will be the grand creations of Ralph Lee whose huge puppets have never failed to entertain. From demons and giants to wizards, witches and skeletons, they'll be there to haunt the grounds of this wonderful museum without walls located in the Bronx!

    Fee: $2 per person plus grounds admission (total of $8 for adults, $3 for children); includes participation in Halloween on Haunted Walk and admission to the Everett Children's Adventure Garden. (Fee is included in the Combination Ticket.)

First Annual Pumpkin Festival At Central Park
Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Taking place Mid-park at 72nd Street entrances
Get ready to scare up a good time at the New York City Parks & Recreation and Camp
Sunshine’s First Annual Pumpkin Festival. The Pumpkin Festival is an attempt to squash the world record for the most simultaneously lit jack-o’-lanterns, set by Boston in 2006. 

In addition to tens of thousands of jack-o’-lanterns on display, enjoy live music from several artists including Nickelodeon performers from “The Dirty Sock Funtime Band,” face painting, pumpkin carving, the Great Pumpkin Walk fundraiser and a performance by The Big Apple Circus. The first 7,500 people will receive a free pumpkin. All proceeds from the event will benefit Camp Sunshine, a national retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Sail & PARTY! at Central Park

Attention all trick-or-treaters, ghost and ghoblins! Bring a carved jack-o-latern (10 pounds or less) and join them for this 17th annual event as folks parade around the Meer. Judges will award prizes for the best costumes. The event will conclude with a flotilla of candle-lit pumpkins sailing across the Harlem Meer. All ages.

Blood Manor

Blood Manor is a haunted labyrinth that combines 11 themed rooms of horror with a pitch black maze and NYC’s only haunted 3-D maze , where guests receive 3-D glasses to view ghastly images as demons, monsters and ghouls stalk them. Throughout your journey of terror, creatures appear, jump, scream and cackle as haunting music and erie smoke fill the air. Blood Manor is meant to be intense and scary and is not recommended for those under 14 years of age.

    Games and admission to the Downtown Doghouse Halloween Party are free of charge and open to the public. Dogs will “bob” for hot dogs, feast on gourmet snacks, and take home “doggie bags” filled with healthy treats and dog food samples.  There will also be a free raffle for canines in costume.
