Saturday, October 31st beginning at 7:00 pm

Come on down and see all the ghouls and goblins. It's a huge attraction with more than 2 million spectators and over 45,000 participants. "It's the largest public participatory event in the greatest city in the world."

So, if you show up in a costume then you're welcomed to join the parade.

Line up for the parade begins on 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal From 6:30 to 8:30 pm

It then heads north to 23rd Street and 6th Avenue. So show up in your costume and be ready to walk along in front of thousands upon thousands of spectators.

The Parade is expected to last from 7pm to 11pm and will be telecast through Cable NY1 News from 8:00 - 9:30pm.

It takes about 2 hours or more for the parade to reach the end.

The Imperial Court of New York presents its Second Annual Halloween Drag Exchange. From Ghoulish to Glamorous — Costumes for a Cause: gowns, tuxedos, costumes, props, done-up wigs, hats, boas, shoes, jewelry and more — for both men and women.
Proceeds to support the ICNY/Empress Coco LaChine Scholarship Fund for LGBT youth in their pursuit of higher education.

Haunted Tour & United Nations Day at the Staten Island Children’s Museum
October  20 – 25

Museum admission is now $6 for people one year of age & older.
Friday - October 23 – Haunted Tours - Using the light of the paper lantern that will be created before the tour - attendees will visit the sights on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden and finish up at the Staten Island Children’s Museum for some hot cider and doughnuts. $8 per person per tour. United Nations Day is a time to remember the intent of its founders, that this huge planet and all its diverse members come to live in peace. That's something worth celebrating with children.  In honor of United Nation Day on:

On Friday, October 23 at Health Plus Kidz Cook young chefs will bake globe cookies.  Cooking begins at 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30 p.m.
And on Saturday & Sunday -October 24 & 25 – In honor of United Nations Day young ambassadors will learn about the United Nations and create a flag of their own. Workshops begin at 1, 2, & 3 p.m.

The Halloween Parade meets at the Rose Garden entrance at 12, 2, and 4 pm and heads to the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden where you can decorate pumpkins to take home and press your own apple cider.

Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Sail & PARTY! at Central Park

Attention all trick-or-treaters, ghost and ghoblins! Bring a carved jack-o-latern (5-10 pounds) by 5:00 pm and join them for this annual event as folks parade around the Meer.

There'll also be pumpkin crafts, storytelling, eerie music and other fun activities in this unique family celebration of Halloween.

The event will conclude with a flotilla of candle-lit pumpkins sailing across the Harlem Meer. All ages.

Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center® will welcome children and families to a fun Halloween scene on Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Top of the Rock, 67th Floor Observatory, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, between 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan.  Children can enjoy face painting, magic shows, crafts and sweet treats while the whole family will enjoy the stunning, 360-degree panorama of New York City. Activities are free with admission.

Top of the Rock is open daily 8:00 AM to midnight, with the sky shuttle making a final run at 11:00 PM. Ticket prices are $21.00 for adults, $19.00 for seniors and $14.00 for children six to 12 years old. Children 5 and under are free.

Come celebrate Halloween on the Oval with horse-drawn carriages, “scary” carnival games and a costumed dog parade at the Stuy Town Oval on Saturday, October 31 from 10:45 a.m. – 6 p.m. between 16th and 18th Streets and Avenues A & B (Enter off First Avenue and 16th Street) in Manhattan. The littlest ones will enjoy singing “spooky” songs and exploring the mini wooden maze. All ages can play games at the carnival, take a horse-drawn carriage ride around the Oval, and of course, eat yummy candy. Starting a new tradition, dog owners are invited to dress-up their favorite canine for Stuy Town’s first-ever Halloween dog parade.

At Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village, residents and visitors come to the famed Stuy Town Oval throughout the year to picnic on the lawn, play frisbee, listen to free concerts, watch movies under the stars, and stock-up on the Greenmarket’s fresh produce.

6th Annual Not too Scary Halloween Party
at the Staten Island Children’s Museum
October 31st from Noon – 4:00 pm

The Staten Island Children’s Museum along with Health Plus  Saturday, October 31st  for a Not Too Scary Halloween Party! The Museum will open at noon and admission is free.  The East Meadow will be filled with kids in their Halloween best decorating pumpkins and making Halloween crafts.  There will also be music (thriller dancing on the Meadow) a haunted house, a kid bounce, treats and mischievous fun! 
  
Put on your Halloween costume(for a parade and contest)! The fun will begin early! It’s Halloween!  We need everyone – big, small, short and tall – to decorate Pumpkins!  The big tent will be ready for art activities: Skeleton Puppets, Pencil Critter and a Haunted House in the museum.  On the Meadow, kids can jump on the Giant Bounce and play some games and races like find the Needle in the Haystack and a Lollipop Toss.  Matt Long (award winning sand sculptor) will be on hand with 8 tons of sand sculpting something Not Tooo Scary on the meadow.

The Museum’s Not Too Scary Halloween will take place from noon – 4 p.m.and promises to be a howl!  Admission to the party is FREE.  Adults must accompany kids; there is limited space available, so please come early.

Blood Manor

Blood Manor is a haunted labyrinth that combines 11 themed rooms of horror with a pitch black maze and NYC’s only haunted 3-D maze , where guests receive 3-D glasses to view ghastly images as demons, monsters and ghouls stalk them. Throughout your journey of terror, creatures appear, jump, scream and cackle as haunting music and erie smoke fill the air. Blood Manor is meant to be intense and scary and is not recommended for those under 14 years of age.

    Take a trip through a haunted house, paint a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, watch a magic show, listen to scary stories and much more at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s Halloween “Spooktacular” on Saturday, October 31st & Sunday, November 1st at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86, (46th Street and 12th Avenue, Manhattan).
    Stilt walkers and interactive scarecrows will greet guests throughout the Museum, face painting will be available from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM and magic shows will take place at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM on both days. 
    All of the Halloween activities are free with the price of admission to the Museum.
