The Pond at Bryant Park
Sometime in December - February 28, 2009

Apparently the folks in charge of putting together the new rink at South Street Seaport came up short for parts and such. Thus they've (at the very last second) decided to let all know that, hey, we're sorry, but it won't be done until Early December.

Here comes the newest addition to NYC's list of skating rinks. Of all places it'll be at South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan within Pier 17.

The Pond at Bryant Park
October 25, 2008 – January 25, 2009

We passed by on a Sunday afternoon for the first time once and oh what a treat to finally see an actual skating rink in midtown Manhattan! We'd encircled the rink a coupla of times so's to get a better perspective and although the rink is a tad bit smaller than New York City's others it was surely big enough for all to enjoy. So even if you're not aiming to go skating it might behoove you to pass by just the same if you're in the area.

Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink
To Open on October 11, 2008
(and of course there'll be another set of dates to come thereafter)

Located at Rockefeller Plaza between 49th & 50th Streets / and between 5th and 6th Avenues.

Come on down and get in on some great skating with the sound of great music in the background. As we near Christmas there just might be that occasional Santa gliding along as well as the annual Christmas Events there.

Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers - Open Year Round

The twin-rink facility on Pier 61 operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round, welcoming skaters of all ages and ability levels for general skating sessions, figure skating, hockey training and league play.

Worlds Fair Skating Rink in Flushing, Queens - October to March

According to the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation this particular location is operational mostly on the weekends.

Also note: All skaters must sign a Risk of Ice Skating/Hockey Activity Agreement. Persons under 18 years of age must have written consent form signed by parent or guardian. Agreement forms available at rink. Parents must sign agreement form in presence of rink employee or parents signature must be notarized. No exceptions.

Wollman Rink / Central Park -
To open on October 20, 2008 -- Weather Permitting

The Wollman Rink at Central Park is to open in Late October, 2008 and you'll find hundreds having fun there already... It's located near the east side of the Park, behind the Zoo and Arsenal.

You could enter in through the south eastern entrance to the park at 59th Street and 5th Avenue...But you could of course access the rink from any direction within the park itself.

Kate Wollman Rink / Prospect Park - November 19 - March 15, 2009

Yes, that's right. There's a Wollman Rink in Brooklyn as well. Located near the Parkside & Ocean Avenues entrance to Prospect Park is this Ice Skating Rink which also offers lessons.

Lasker Rink

Located at and around West 106th and 108th Streets midway through Central Park.
To open on October 25, 2008 -- Weather Permitting

Visit this beautiful part of the Park and perhaps before or after your skating, you could visit the Harlem Meer & the Dana Discovery Center at the North Eastern corner of the park.
