Lent, a season that recalls the great
mystery of Christ's suffering, death and resurrection is a time of reflection
and sacrifice. A time to focus on and rearrange our spiritual priorities. Throughout
these 40 days of Lent, Christians are invited to prepare themselves spiritually
through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.
We invite you to come spend an evening nourishing
your body and soul.
HELD PRECEDING HOLY WEEK, our Lenten afternoon
begins at 1:30 pm with a Soup and Sandwich lunch.
A tasty bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup,
Tuna fish (or) American cheese sandwiches,
and a beverage of coffee, tea or milk.
AFTERWARDS, you’ll be nourished “spiritually” as we gather in
the Church at 3:00PM for a special Reflection, conducted
by Fr. Joseph Lorenzo, OFM, pastor of St. Anthony’s.
THIS IS FOLLOWED BY an opportunity to receive the
Sacrament of Reconciliation 4:00—4:45 pm and
a chance to spend some quiet time alone with our Lord.
THE AFTERNOON WILL CONCLUDE with the 5:00PM Saturday Vigil
celebration of Holy Mass.
IN ADDITION to sharing a spiritual afternoon, proceeds from
your donation will aid a charitable cause.
