Annual Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting

As is usual, tens of thousands will descend upon this very
special part of NYC as streets become aglow with Christmas
Cheer and Yuletide decor! From those wonderful decorations
outside of those many midtown office buildings to the skating
rink at Rockefeller Center there'll be plenty to take in and
hold sight of. 'And why not? For decades this area has stood
ground as what New Yorkled considers to be the Christmas Capital
of the World!
So come hither and rejoice as we near this merry time of

On Monday, November 29, 2004, the Lincoln Square Business
Improvement District will host the 5th Annual Winter’s
Eve at Lincoln Square, a giant neighborhood celebration featuring
free entertainment, family fun, kids’activities, food
tastings, and shopping around this vibrant neighborhood. The
festivities will follow Lincoln Center’s traditional
holiday tree lighting.
All Winter’s Eve entertainment for children and adults
is free and open to the public. Holiday cheer and food samplings
will be offered free or at a nominal cost.
On November 29th, before Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square,
Lincoln Center will host its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
at 5:30 pm on the Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center.
This highly anticipated holiday tradition is a multi-cultural
celebration of light featuring special music and fun family
entertainment.

Holiday Laser Light Shows

The popular Holiday Laser Light Shows returns to Grand Central
this year! The lasers, which debuted on Grand Central Terminal’s
famous Sky Ceiling of the in 1999, are back again with a special
90th Anniversary Show to celebrate Grand Central reaching
this milestone. In addition, six other shows which feature
the ceiling’s constellations transforming into snowmen,
skiers, famous city buildings and more, all dancing to holiday
favorites like “Frosty the Snowman,” “Rudolph
the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “The Skater’s
Waltz”. These rotating Laser Light Shows run for five-minutes
each and take place every half-hour each day between 11:00
AM and 9:00 PM.
South Street Seaport's Christmas
Tree, Chorus and Strolling Santa
Santa Claus Is Coming DOWNTOWN!
Visit one of New York's most storied and famous Santa Claus
as he strolls six days a week from November 26th - December
24th.
Santa will be spreading holiday cheer Tuesdays through Saturdays
from Noon - 7:30pm and Sundays from Noon - 5:30pm. Be sure
to bring your own camera and capture the moment with a special

Chorus Tree at South Street Seaport is one of the city's most
popular. During the holidays, the Seaport is bustling with
holiday festivities and the Chorus Tree is at the center of
the activity. The beautifully decorated Chorus Tree with thousands
of white lights stands over 50 feet tall. This annual tradition
has drawn millions of visitors worldwide to the historic financial
district over the past 15 years.
There are always Choral programs through the holidays with
special performances on Christmas Eve and New Years Day.
Who'll perform this
year? Details aren't out yet...but New Yorkled will bring
them your way as soon as they're available.

in celebration through a party to end all parties? Times Square
of course! An event which has gone on since 1904 and watched
by millions across the nation and millions more around the
world.

Festival at Chelsea Piers

As Ice Theatre's home rink since 1995, Sky Rink is proud
to co-present the Winter Festival. The show highlights the
artistic development and notably diverse repertory created
by Ice Theatre of New York over its 20-year history. The five
performances include revivals of past works as well as new
pieces by choreographers David Parsons, Heather Harrington,
Katherine Healy and David Liu.

Park Midnight Run - Annual Run plus Fireworks!!!
Get ready for the 26th annual four mile Central Park Run
on New Year's Eve. On hand will be music, entertainment, gifts
and awards, a masquerade costume parade and of course we'll
get to enjoy the usual Fireworks this year!!!
Last year the race began at 72nd Street at Bethesda Terrace.
The race itself is organized by our very own NY Road Runners.

Macy's 78th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade

The parade begins at 77th Street and Central Park West, and
ends at Macy's at 34th Street and Broadway. There is restricted
access from 36th to 38th Street on Broadway and on 34th Street
from Broadway to 7th Avenue on the north side of the street.
Beginning at 79th Street and Central Park West, the parade
heads down to Columbus Circle at 59th Street and Broadway
then goes down Broadway to Macy's Heral Square at 34th Street.
All and all it's a 2.5 mile stretch.
Join in this celebration as thousands of Macy's employees
join in this march. Huge helium filled balloons. Some of the
balloons from previous years have been: Barney, Big Bird,
Cheesasaurus Rex, Dragon Tales' Cassie to Jimmy Neutron, Ronald
McDonald, Snoopy and more will make kids, old and young stretch
their necks to look up and smile. There'll even be the 65
foot long Pikachu and so many floats, along with falloons
(balloons on floats), many clown groups, casts from four Broadway
shows, many marching bands from across the country and the
Radio City Rockettes.
Viewing Locations: From Central Park West:
the west side of the street from 70th Street to Columbus Circle
and on the east side of the street from 70th to 65th Street. Columbus Circle: the
west side of the street. Broadway: Broadway
between 58th and 38th Streets. 34th Street: the south
side of the street between Broadway and 7th Avenue.
Perhaps just as exciting as this
great parade is the evening before when thousands gather to
view the preparation and inflation of the huge balloons.

Taking place on the first Sunday of November with over 30,000
entrants, 12,000 volunteers and more than 2 million spectators
along the route and hundreds of millions worldwide?
Village
Halloween Parade - 6th Avenue - Entering into its 30th
celebration is the Annual Halloween Parade. Come on down and
see all the ghouls and goblins. It's a huge attraction with
more than 2 million spectators. "It's the largest public
participatory event in the greatest city in the world."
So, if you show up in a costume then you're welcomed to join
the parade.
