NEW YORK, NY, Apr. 23, 2015 – Cameron ClarkeMatthew Hansen and Kimberly Nordstrom will lead the cast of MANUSCRIPT, a dark comedy written by Paul Grellong and directed by Paige Fridell. Performances begin May 8, 2015 at Theatre Row.

Three college freshmen are partying in Brooklyn Heights before a fancy holiday ball. One of them runs to score drugs and returns with shocking news: their dealer has overdosed. Armed with a stack of papers that will change their lives forever, three friends will stop at nothing in a quest for revenge where deception rules, little is what it seems and no one can be trusted. The play hurtles towards a surprise ending that leaves everyone breathless.

Clarke has previously been seen in suburbia, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Boeing Boeing, Romeo & Juliet and The Servant of Two Masters. Hansen’s New York credits include Living Dead in Denmark and Crimes of the Heart. Nordstrom’s theatrical credits include Dog Sees God, Our House, Cactus Flower and Murder on the Nile and the films No Address, The Adventures of Pinocchio the Sperm, Infection and Hawkins Hill.

Fridell has previously directed Light At The End of Water Street and The Last Five Years. Scenic design is by Joseph Napolitano, a designer, creative director, and scenographer whose architectural collaboration have been seen in New York, Philadelphia, D.C., New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas and abroad. Lighting design is by Cindy Shumsey, whose work has been seen at Joe’s Pub, PS122, Madison Square Garden Theatre and the Westbury Music Fair and Symphony.

MANUSCRIPT is produced by Just Kidding Theatre Company, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create intimate theatrical productions that empower, educate and entertain. Previous productions include the critically-acclaimed Living Dead in Denmark by Qui Nguyen and Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. They also host a new works reading series.

Performances will be held on Thursdays at 8pm; Fridays at 8pm; and Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm from May 8 through May 16, 2015.

About The Author

Paul Grellong studied playwriting at Brown University. His television writing credits include Revolution, Terra Nova, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2008 Edgar Award Nominee). His play Warfare was part of the inaugural season of Brown/Trinity Playwrights Rep (Providence, RI) in July 2005; Power of Sail appeared there in June 2006. Radio Free Emerson (Winner: 2008 Elliot Norton Award from the Boston Theater Critics Association for Outstanding New Script) was commissioned by the Gamm Theatre (Pawtucket, Rhode Island) and premiered there in the spring of 2007. The New Fire was first produced by the Echo Theatre Company (Los Angeles). His plays have been read and workshopped at Center Theatre Group, Cape Cod Theatre Project, MCC, Trinity Repertory Company, DR2 Theatre, and the Black Dahlia Theatre. His play Manuscript opened at the Daryl Roth Theatre (New York City) in June 2005.
