On December 1st 2001, thousands of Canadians came to New York City to
show their love and support for our city. They came to the Roseland Ballroom
to hear speeches from celebrity figures, to hear musical performances
and for those who could not attend the rally, there stood outside a giant
screen for all to see.
Of those well known who were scheduled to attend were Prime Minister
Jean Chrétien, Wayne Gretzky, Dan Akroyd, Eric Lindros, Kim Cattrall,
Paul Shaffer, Steve Nash, Marc Messier and Jason Priestley.
But the rally which took place was not the only show of compassion from
our Neighbors to the North.
The following words are what you will find on the
Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Website:
Canadians share the loss of loved ones and friends.
On Friday our nation mourned with you for the victims of the terroris
attacks. We share your outrage, grief, compassion and resolve.
The People of Canada are with you every step of the way.
As Friends. As Neighbors. As Family.

Personal Note from the WebMaster
Hello Fellow North Americans! I've visited Canada perhaps 12 times in the
past 8 years. Once to Montreal and the other times to Toronto. Next to my
love for my country, Canada 'o Canada comes second....I adore it!
I've been to the CN tower, Ontario Place (my fave), the Metro area countless
times and to most other great sights there. Not to mention the summer
fairs which take place in Toronto.
I just wanted to let you know that NYC welcomes you with open arms always
in the future. You are our friends and I'll dare go one further by saying
you are our brothers and sisters.
I posted the information regarding the upcoming weekend somewhere and
the following is one individual's response:
"Welcome to NYC. Anytime people from our good friend
to the north visits The Big Apple we are ready to greet them with open
arms. Enjoy your time here and thank you for your caring, concern and
friendship. "
I think this person speaks for all of us. Should you have specific questions
regarding sights to see during your any of your upcoming visits then by
all means, contact me and if I can answer your question then I will.
...and there's this one Canadian's words which touched me deeply:
"We are your sisters and brothers. Of course we
need to be there for you. And you will see it at the rally. There won't
be a dry eye in the house. Thank you for your warm and welcoming words.
They are most appreciated. And here's to you....and to all the freedom-loving
and freedom-hoping peoples of the world.
xo A Canadian (Torontonian - ex. Montrealer.....Citizen of the World).
Many, many regards!

Canada Loves NY Children
The response from fellow Americans and Canadians has been very uplifting
since September 11th.
New Yorkled has heard from one Canadian who had delivered thousands of
messages to NYC schools. These items came from Canadian children who wanted
to share their warmth and care for our own kids.
She came along with the Toronto Blue Jays Mascot and brought our kids
entertainment, letters and murals which the Canadian children had created.
