New Yorkled was contacted by a Canadian who delivered by hand: messages, murals and letters put together by Canadian students to the people and children of NYC.

This Canadian, Laura A. Sokoloski had come to NYC to deliver the thousands of messages to schools here. She along with the Toronto Blue Jays Mascot brought entertainment for the children here as well.

These kids deserve a little recognition for the hard work they put into the letters and murals they created.

Laura had also taken photographs during her visit.

"The pics I took walking along the streets of Manhattan speak volumes to me...When I see the eyes of the cabbie, the firefighters, the police unfolding the kids mural, I think of the words of Thomas Jefferson, 'Liberty lives in the hearts of men and women.' "

Also in the works is a field trip for students of Washington D.C. to visit Toronto and surrounding areas in the Spring of 2001. It will be the first field trip for the schools that each lost a student and teacher and two parents on the plane that was hijacked after it left Dulles Airport on September 11, 2001.
