This event takes place along a beautiful 5K course at the Bronx Zoo, and is open to runners and walkers alike. 5th Annual Walk To Defeat Als In Manhattan

The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter will host their 5th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser in Manhattan on Saturday, May 5th, 11:00 AM, at Hudson River Park’s Pier 46 (Charles Street and the West Side Highway) in Manhattan.
The walk will span 2.75 miles and will end at Clinton Cove, Pier 96 at 57th Street. The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Dogs must be leashed. At the end of the walk there will be family activities such as face painting, live music and other fun and games.

Carl Schurz Park, 86th and East End Avenue The Wilson Disease Association is hosting our second annual New York City Walk-a-thon. Walk Out Wilson’s or “WOW” will help to create awareness about this devastating genetic disorder. For this event to be successful we need your help!
Wilson disease is a genetic disorder that is fatal unless detected and treated before serious illness from copper poisoning develops. With 1 in 30,000 people affected worldwide and no cure yet discovered, the need for support is of upmost importance.

The race is one of the premier 10K’s held in all New York City. Given its proximity to the NYC Marathon, many athletes see Restoration’s 10K as a “warm up” to their long-distance run in November. However, people of all fitness levels and ages are attracted to the race which has become a much anticipated community event.
The starting line for the 28th Annual 10K Community Run and Fun Walk is at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn.
