18th Parkinson's Unity Walk

The Parkinson's Unity Walk directs donated funds to increase research to find a cure. Six of the seven participating organizations use the dollars they receive to fund specific research studies.

This four-mile race raises funding and awareness in the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who died from lung cancer at age 62.

  • 10:00 A.M. Check-in: All walkers check-in and receive a Pediatric Cancer Foundation T-shirt. Enjoy breakfast, food and drinks donated by our many product sponsors. Walk-ins are welcome to register for an additional charge of $5.00 per person. Raffle tickets will be sold ONLY during registration.
  • 11:00 A.M. Welcome and Raffle Drawing: Our host, Lee Goldberg, Eyewitness News Channel 7 Meterologist, will kick off our festivities.
  • 11:30 A.M. Walk Begins: Join us for our 19th Annual Walkathon through beautiful and historic Riverside Park, Manhattan, starting and ending in the West 79th Street Boat Basin Rotunda.
  • 12:30 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. Post Walk Party: Back in the Rotunda, celebrate with entertainment provided by DTR Entertainment, food, drink, face-painting and giveaways.

Beginning and ending at the 79th Street Rotunda at Riverside Drive will be this annual benefit walk which aims to raise money in the fight against childhood cancer.

at the Bronx Zoo

This event takes place along a beautiful 5K course at the Bronx Zoo, and is open to runners and walkers alike. 5th Annual Walk To Defeat Als In Manhattan

Walk starts at Hudson River Park’s Pier 46,
Charles Street and the West Side Highway
Walk ends at Clinton Cove at Pier 96,
57th Street and the West Side Highway

The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter will host their 5th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser in Manhattan on Saturday, May 5th, 11:00 AM, at Hudson River Park’s Pier 46 (Charles Street and the West Side Highway) in Manhattan.

The walk will span 2.75 miles and will end at Clinton Cove, Pier 96 at 57th Street. The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Dogs must be leashed. At the end of the walk there will be family activities such as face painting, live music and other fun and games.

Carl Schurz Park, 86th and East End Avenue The Wilson Disease Association is hosting our second annual New York City Walk-a-thon.   Walk Out Wilson’s or “WOW” will help to create awareness about this devastating genetic disorder.  For this event to be successful we need your help!
Wilson disease is a genetic disorder that is fatal unless detected and treated before serious illness from copper poisoning develops.  With 1 in 30,000 people affected worldwide and no cure yet discovered, the need for support is of upmost importance.

The race is one of the premier 10K’s held in all New York City. Given its proximity to the NYC Marathon, many athletes see Restoration’s 10K as a “warm up” to their long-distance run in November. However, people of all fitness levels and ages are attracted to the race which has become a much anticipated community event.

The starting line for the 28th Annual 10K Community Run and Fun Walk is at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn.
