Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Announces “Kids Week” Activities

Annual Week Of Programming Provides Fun And Learning During Schools’ Winter Break

Partnering with the Intrepid to provide programming during this year’s “Kids Week” are the New York Red Bulls, Ringling Brothers, Rosie O’Donnell’s Rosie’s Broadway Kids, Dave and Busters, Madame Tussauds New York, Mr. Met, NASA, Old Navy, The Gap and others.

This year’s special events include:

• Saturday, February 19:  Circus Weekend.  Guest performances by Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
• Sunday, February 20: Circus Weekend.  Guest performances by Ringling Brothers and Barnun & Bailey Circus.
• Monday, February 21: Puppet Day.  Guest performances by Puppetry Arts Theatre, Imagine Ocean the Musical, special appearance by Roscoe Orman from Sesame Street, arts and crafts, face painting and puppet-making activities. 
• Tuesday, February 22: Broadway Performance Day.  Guest performances by Broadway shows The Addams Family, Rain: A Tribue to the Beatles and Billy Elliot, as well as Rosie’s Broadway Kids.  Interactive games with members of Broadway’s Lombardi.  Face painting and arts and crafts will be available throughout the day.
• Wednesday, February 23:  PBS Kids Day.  Guest performance by Gizmo Guys variety show.  Screenings of PBS Films throughout the day.  Appearances by PBS Kids characters, interactive displays and face painting throughout the day.
• Thursday, February 24: Sports and Recreation Day.  Special appearance by Mr. Met.  United States Tennis Association activities, interactive games with members of Broadway’s Lombardi, Dave & Busters prize giveaways and face painting throughout the day. 
• Friday, February 25: Fashion and Fun Day.  The Gap and Old Navy fashion shows.  Guest performance by Freckleface Strawberry the Musical.  Special film screening from American Girl Place.  Madame Tussauds wax figures will be on display all day.  Face painting throughout the day. 
• Saturday, February 26: Science Weekend.  Jenkinson’s Aquarium presentations with live animals, demonstrations by Liberty Science Center and LES Ecology Center throughout the day. 
• Sunday, February 27: Science Weekend.  Demonstrations by Liberty Science Center, New York Hall of Science and United States Coast Guard throughout the day. 

In addition the special events and appearances, staff of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Education Department will lead interactive, education demonstrations throughout each day.
