Sculptures by Houdon and Clodion

Through April 5

The Frick’s collection of sculptures by Jean-Antoine Houdon and Claude Michel (called Clodion) are displayed for the first time as a group in the Portico Gallery. With a focus on Houdon’s lifelike marble portrait busts and Clodion’s small-scale terracotta statuettes, the exhibition highlights the artists’ creative responses to the classical tradition and their defining contributions to the art of Enlightenment-era France.

Recently restored, Houdon’s large-scale terracotta Diana the Huntress (right) is a new highlight of this evolving installation.
