"The Brooklyn Museum is the second largest art museum in the NYC, one of the largest in the United States and one of the premier art institutions in the world. Its monumental 560,000 square landmark Beaux Arts building contains comprehensive collections that include more than 1.5 million objects - from Ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary painting and sculpture - representing almost every culture and corner of the world." And monumental it certainly is!

At the Museum you'll find Egyptian and Ancient Middle Eastern Art; American Paintings and Sculpture; Asian Art; Contemporary Art; Arts of Africa, The Pacific and The Americas; European Paintings and Sculpture; Decorative Arts and Period Rooms; Prints, Drawings and Photographs; and of course, Permanent and rotating exhibitions throughout the year.

Located on the edge of Prospect Park near the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and one block away from Grand Army Plaza this Museum also contains a Museum Shop where one can purchase gifts, posters, catalogues and much more.

Getting there by Subway: 1, 2 subway line to Eastern Parkway take you there directly; 1, 2 to Grand Army Plaza or D, Q, S to Prospect Park leave you at a somewhat reasonable distance (less than a 10 minute walk?)
