From various years and taken at either the Quickchek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport within Readington, NJ or at the Adirondack Balloon Festival at Crandall Park within Glens Falls, NY.

With the Jersey Fest of Ballooning a mere 2+ months away I'm a bit antsy about the event. Hmmmm, maybe this time I'll splurge and actually take a ride. Hmmmm, maybe. ;-)

2008 NJ Balloon Fest - I
Yup! It's the 2008 Quick Chek NJ Festival of Ballooning and the weather was even better than last year's with ultra calm winds and fantastic skies.
I'm writing this from my hotel room and so will back on board over the weekend to catch up with all y'all.

Balloon Glow - 2007

Here's a photo of the Balloon Glow at the 2007 QuickChek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning. This took place shortly after the mass ascension and just prior to the Fireworks.

At near sunset this fella is balancing that dark colored balloon while other folks fill it with air. Mind you, the ascent usually takes place around 6:30 pm but had to be stalled this evening due to strong winds.

Folks readying to board the basket and take off. I don't know too much about this but each ascension involves plenty of folks to hold down the balloon while they unfasten the ropes?

This photo taken in 2005 at the QuickChek Balloon Festival in Readington, New Jersey. It was quite exciting and intense. I couldn't get out there last year due to the extreme heatwave we'd been going through but hopefully this year's weather will be more pleasant.
