Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92

Cost: $30. Free for WWII veterans. Veterans, military personnel and members of BLDG 92 receive a 10% discount.

Description: Turnstile Tours and BLDG 92 evoke the Yard during World War II on this interactive tour drawing from the experiences of the 70,000 wartime workers who made it the “Can-Do” Yard. Visitors will explore the role of New York City’s waterfront in the war effort and make connections between the Yard and famous battles of WWII. Highlights include the Naval Hospital campus, the Naval Film Exchange, a working dry dock, and legendary sites in the surrounding community. Yard Inspectors Tour: A Brooklyn Navy Yard Adventure

Date & Time: Saturday, 5/4. Sunday, 4/21. Memorial Day, 5/27. Noon – 1:00pm.

Cost: $22 adults. $20 children. Members of BLDG 92 receive a 10% discount.

Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92

Description: Young visitors (ages 6 to 13) follow clues to uncover treasures nestled within the Yard’s 300-acres. Interactive tour leads families on a search for industrial cranes, street lamps powered by wind and the sun, and more as they learn about Brooklyn’s shipbuilding legacy, New York’s modern maritime industry, and the “greening” of today’s Yard. Brooklyn Navy Yard Sustainability Bicycle Tour

Date & Time: Saturday, 4/13 and 5/5. Sunday 4/21 and 5/26. 12:00pm – 2:00pm

Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92

Cost: $24. Members of BLDG 92 receive a 10% discount.

Description: Guided bike tour surveys historic facility’s transition from naval shipbuilding to a sustainable urban industrial park housing the nation’s first multi-story “green” industrial building, first solar- and wind-powered street lamps, NYC’s first building-mounted wind turbines, adaptively reused historic structures, and new green buildings certified by the US Green Buildings Council. Seasonal Photography tour of the Brooklyn Navy Yard

Date & Time: Saturday, 4/20, 7/20 and 10/19. 11am – 1pm.

Cost: $30. Members of BLDG 92 receive a 10% discount.

Description: A limited narration, visual journey around the Yard’s fascinating waterfront landscape. Photo enthusiasts can juxtapose its 19th century buildings against cutting edge green construction, natural landscapes with riverside vistas all nestled within a thriving 300-acre industrial setting. Guided bus tour offers several extended opportunities for shutterbugs to develop their own collage. Participants are eligible to enter an Instagram contest judged by professional Yard photographers. BLDG 92 Presents: Women-made film screenings

Date & Time: Thursday, 4/25, 5/30 and 6/27. 6:30pm.

Cost: $8. $5 for Members of BLDG 92

Description: BLDG 92 debuts its first-ever screening series featuring documentaries from women filmmakers. In April, Rafea: Solar Mama follows the ground-breaking journey of a Bedouin mother who becomes Jordan’s first solar engineer. In May, Meat Hooked! explores the rise and fall and rise again of butchers and butchery in NYC. Screenings close in June with No Job for a Woman, which reveals the life and work of three female reporters who refuse to play by the rules. BLDG 92 Presents…Wesley Fagan: A Life in Pictures

Description: Jazz musician and the Navy Yard’s first African-American photography director passed away last year at the age of 101. A Bed-Stuy local, his great American story and selections of his work—including his capture of the USS Constellation blaze, one of Brooklyn’s most disastrous—are now on view at BLDG 92. Brooklyn Navy Yard Overview tour: The Past, Present, and Future of the Yard

Description: Guided bus tour explores intriguing sites of the 150-year shipbuilding facility including a Civil-War era dry dock, the 24-acre former Navy hospital campus, and the nation’s first multi-story LEED Gold-certified industrial building. Gallery 92 exhibit: Reflections on Rosie

Description: In a new art installation and exhibit, four women working in the Yard today reflect on the experiences of women who entered its gates for the very first time seven decades earlier. Incorporating oral histories, sculpture and fashion, “Reflections on Rosie” explores the irrevocable transformation of women in WWII and celebrates the legacy of contemporary female entrepreneurs. Designing the Future

Description: The second and newest installation of a prototype showcase by Brooklyn’s best and brightest design and engineering students—ideas and products that may one day be developed and manufactured in the Navy Yard.
