Autumn in Harriman State Park - Bear Mountain Foliage Photos
Featuring images from the State Park as well as Bear Mountain
Note: The maximize button at the bottom right corner will allow you to view the slideshow in full screen mode.

Situated next to one another is Bear Mountain State Park and Harriman State Park found on the western side of the Hudson River along and within the Rockland and Orange Counties of New York. Amongst these areas can be found as well Seven Lakes Drive which as the name implies encompasses and passes through a number of lakes in the area. In a moment we'll list the names of those lakes but don't go thinking we actually knew that by heart or even ever had any inkling as to which one was which. LOL. We never did, although we've tried. Soooo, here it goes: Lake Sebago, Lake Kanawauke, Lake Skanatati, Lake Askoti, Lake Tiorati, Silver Mine Lake, Queensboro Lake. Hmmm, actually, now to think of it yours truly does remember where Silver Mine Lake is. Maybe because that's the very first one we bump into as we drive into the area.

We haven't as many images taken as we'd have liked from the Autumnal seasons in the Harriman Area. Quite possibly one or two will be offered up for sale and purchase and maybe even one or two offered up for free download. Of course as is usual, an inconspichous trademark will be presented within such free offerings. Stay tuned.

As for the other areas of this region? New Yorkled's been through these counties many times over the years and we'd be lying if we said they weren't some of the best New York experiences we ever came across. Regardless of the season these lands are rich with grand visual vistas and gorgeous outdoors. Obviously this page features photos which were taken at various points in our travels during the Autumn season. Unfortunately we can't say we've been there at just the perfect moments to capture the height of the peak seasons since the weather wasn't always the best on the days we were available. 'and Let's face it, the drive up there, although not the longest, isn't exactly the shortest either from Metropolitan New York. Regardless, whether it was driving across the Bear Mountain Bridge or coasting up the Perkins Memorial Drive to the peak at Bear Mountain, it's always been a joy to visit the area. We've driven through the Seven Lakes Drive often times just for the heck of it and once in awhile stopped at one of the lakes for a walk about the grounds. It's such outings which make taking field trips so much more enjoyable. Here's wishing one and all the chance to experience these parts at least one time.
