As some of you and many others would know, New Yorkled's been attempting to photograph the many streets, areas, neighborhoods and boroughs of New York City for years now. From the many bridges which cross the waters surrounding Manhattan Island to the multitudes of landmarks, skyscrapers, streets and more. The number of scenes, objects and more within the New York City area just boggles the mind. 'and what with all the constant building and rebuilding, this city's landscape can appear to be constantly changing. Find yourself absent from Manhattan Island for a bit of time and you just might return to discover some unfamiliar changes. Such as a new building or an old one torn down; maybe some new sculptures have been erected or a historic one prettied up. Even something as odd sounding as the broadening of pedestrian traffic would have taken effect. Take for example the pedestrian plazas added to the Times Square area. It's these sorts of changes that make way for new photographic opportunities. The kinds of changes all of us photographers live for.
Of course it never just ends or begins with Manhattan since the Big Apple is known as well for its surrounding boroughs within which the bulk of the city's residents live. It's within these outer boroughs and neighborhoods that a great deal of our cross-cultural charm can be found. Is it any wonder that New York City is referred to as the 'Melting Pot'? It's because of this that one will stumble upon ever changing neighborhood facades, stores, restaurants and even landmarks reflecting the dominating culture of that locale's population. 'and WHAT a photographer's treasure chest NYC is! Be it night or day, Winter or Summer, Autumn or Spring. New York City has been this photographer's delight to explore time and again.
