City Island - Across from the City Island
Bridge, just beyond the Pelham Bit Stables and Pelham Bay Park - This
nautical neighborhood is stock full of great seafood restaurants along
it's main strip. Walking along or even taking the bus into City Island
will allow you to see the mast poles of some of the boats located on the
Islands edge. Travel to the far end and get to see the Long Island Sound.
There's also the City Island Nautical Museum which is opened only on Sundays
unfortunately.
Much more to some on this Bronx neighborhood along with many photos. Stay

Pelham Bit Stables - 9 Shore Road - At
and around Pelham Bay Park and midway to City Island is this Equestrian

know how then better!
Visit the Equestrian Page of New
Yorkled to learn about this and other riding academies in NYC.
Pelham Bay Park - Top of the Bronx in the
Pelham Bay section - At 2,765 acres of natural woodland this is the largest
Park in all of NYC. Within is the Historical Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum
and Gardens, the Split Rock Golf Course,
playgrounds aplenty, tennis courts, the Pelham Bit Stables mentioned above,
City Island nearby, ballfields, and hey! even Orchard Beach. So it certainly
earns its title as New York City's biggest and well almost very best park.
That title belongs to Central Park. Oh
well.
Visit the Pelham Bay Park Page of New Yorkled.
Van Cortlandt Park and Van Corlandt House Museum
- 242nd Street/Broadway and beyond - This large park and Museum is a wonderful
part of the borough. With a sports field, a few famous trails for you

It's among the top five largest parks in NYC. Not exactly something worth
going out of your way for, but should you be in the neigborhood then definitely
pay it a visit.
Visit the Van Cortlandt Park Page of New
Yorkled.
There's alot more to come on all of the great sights, parks, bridges,
historical features and everything else as they pertain to The Bronx.
(BTW, as to why or rather, how this borough's name came to be preceded
by the word "the" is explained on the first page of these
Bronx pages. You may find it interesting.
So continue your tour of our great city and hope you're return
to help us in our celebration of New York City.
