Rye Playland, located
in the city of Rye, NY (Westchester) off the Long Island Sound offers
a huge host of activities for the entire family. From all of its
many amusement park rides (roller coasters, water excitement, and
even rides for the kiddies), to many other offerings you'd think
this wonderful park has it all.
Accessible by bus, train and car it's an easy ride up from Manhattan
Island. One can't help but spend an entire day within. Yours truly
visited this great amusement park often with each time involving rests in between adventurous rides. Wait, did I say rest?
Yup, there are plenty of ways to just ease back and enjoy the day
at Rye Playland. Apart from the live entertainment that's offered
(some big names too!) there's also Playland Lake besides which one
can just lay down or sit beside on the grass and have a picnic,
the beach area of the Long Island Sound shore, and many other ways
to relax whether it's enjoying a meal or chatting with a loved one.
As if the aforementioned wasn't enough there's also the Pool &
Beach as well as the Lake on which one can rent a pedal boat or
take a Lake Cruise...all for quite affordable prices.
Last but not least, in the Summer months of July and August you'll
get to enjoy fireworks every Wednesday and Friday. So head on over
and see what all the fuss is about! You're bound not to be sorry
one single bit!
You might also want to take note of how easy it was for us to purchase a Ride-Card using our credit-card through their machines. I've still got my recent one purchased as of this writing in 2006 with plenty of monies left on it and boy, HOW I CAN'T WAIT to get back on over to this park. I refilled it twice during my last visit this Summer and will most likely do so again during my next visit. 'and Hey! There's this one rollercoaster which in my opinion is one of the best in the northeast. No Loops! Nothing Vomit Inducing. NO! It's just plain fun is all. Who says a rollercoaster has to twist you and your stomach in every direction to be fun? Really! I recommend it to everyone amongst many of their other rides.
